This summer, I traveled with the Milwaukee Water Council to participate in the Singapore International Water Week, along with 13,000 attendees from 99 countries. I heard Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong address an audience of water experts. The depth of Lee’s knowledge on water issues and the detail of his responses was impressive, to say the least.
But what struck me most was Lee’s response to a question about Singapore’s approaches to its water challenges.
Lee replied: “We look ahead, we look across and we look apart.”
Lee’s 10 simple words are an apt description of Milwaukee’s drive to become a world water hub.
