A three year drought in California, leading to severe water cutbacks to farmers, is the focus of a four day, 39 mile hike by farmers and farm workers. The march is bringing light to the huge cost of lack of water to the agriculture industry in the state.  As lack of water has made many farmers abandon their fields this spring, the government has predicted that as many as 34,700 full-time farm workers could lose their jobs, and farmers could lose $477 Million in revenue this year alone. The march began in Mondota, a town with an unemployment rate of 40%, and ended at the San Luis Reservoir near Pacheco Pass.
