Mr. Maalouf started his career in venture capital with Working Ventures Canadian Fund, at the time Canada’s largest venture capital firm. He moved quickly up the ranks, participating in over twenty transactions across diverse industries and stages. He specialized in semiconductor and middleware software companies, and led five investments in that area. Subsequently, he joined VenGrowth Capital Partners, where he led seven investments in the communications industry.
Many of the companies in Khalil’s portfolio have been successfully exited through initial public offerings (IPOs) or acquisitions. Examples include: Genesis Microchip Inc. (NASDAQ:GNSS – subsequently acquired by STMicroelectronics NYSE:STM), Cognicase Inc. (TMX:COG – subsequently acquired by CGI Inc. TMX:CGI), and Simba Technologies, acquired by Pivotal Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PVTL – subsequently acquired by Broadcom Corporation NASDAQ: BRCM).
Mr. Maalouf currently serves as Director of BCR Environmental Corporation, and is a member of the Water Environment Federation and American Water Works Association.
Mr. Maalouf holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and a B. Comm in Finance and Accounting from Concordia University.
